Itinerary
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Mhamid – Erg Chegaga
Departure around 08:00 in the morning from your hotel in Ouarzazate for enjoying a two days trip in the desert of Mhamid. This eco-tourism exploration joins between travelling along green valleys and also nomad life search. We continue our exploration to reach the Draa valley at the length of 200 km. We cross partly off road to reach Zagora. Continue to M’hamid last Draa palm grove via tamegroute .and after lunch we start Traveling through the beautiful desert landscape with a break to enjoy a berber sahara tea in the sacred oasis. We reach the sand dunes of Chegaga – the largest group of dunes in the region reaching a height of 300 m and a span of 40 km. night in a nomad tent with dinner.
Day 2: Erg Chegaga – Iriqui lake – Taznakht – Ouarzazate
After enjoying the sunrise up the sand dunes, breakfast is served to you, then departure in 4×4 vehicles via the old Paris-Dakar road to Foum Zguid, crossing Iriqui lake. Lunch in the berber village Taznakht.Then we continue our desert safari towards the Ait Benhadou kasbah, a 16th century UNESCO site. It is one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. A famous site for Hollywood films, Ait Benhaddou was used for the blockbuster film of 2000, Gladiator. Arrival to Ouarzazate around 06 p.m.
